Reading Royals is an American professional ice hockey team based in Reading, Pennsylvania, and a member of the ECHL. The franchise was established in 1991 as the Columbus Chill and played in Columbus, Ohio, until 1999. After two years of inactivity, the franchise relocated to Reading and began playing as the Royals in 2001. The team plays its home games at Santander Arena and won its first Kelly Cup championship in 2013. The Royals have also developed numerous players who later reached the NHL.
