SAP Arena is a large, multi-purpose indoor arena located in Mannheim, Germany. Opened in 2005 after construction began in 2002, it was financed and is owned by Dietmar Hopp. With capacity up to about 15,000 spectators depending on event type, the arena hosts home games for the ice-hockey club Adler Mannheim and the handball club Rhein-Neckar Löwen, as well as numerous concerts, shows, and other major events annually. Besides sports, the venue is widely used for concerts and conventions, making it one of Germany’s largest and technologically advanced indoor arenas. The configuration allows flexible seating and event layouts, enabling SAP Arena to accommodate everything from ice hockey and handball to large-scale live entertainment — cementing its status as a key cultural and sports hub in Mannheim and the region.
