Scottish Bus Group was a state-owned Scottish bus holding company that operated a large network of bus services throughout Scotland. Its origins date to 1961, when Scottish Omnibuses Group (Holdings) was created to manage publicly owned Scottish bus subsidiaries. The organisation adopted the Scottish Bus Group name in 1963 and became part of the Scottish Transport Group in 1969. It operated through regional companies including Eastern Scottish, Midland Scottish, Western Scottish, Central Scottish, Fife Scottish and Northern Scottish. Following UK bus deregulation and government privatisation policy, the group was divided into separate operating units and sold during the late 1980s.
