St Kilda Football Club, nicknamed the Saints, is a historic Australian rules football team based in Melbourne, Victoria. Established in 1873, it is one of the oldest football clubs in Australia and was a foundation member of the Victorian Football League (VFL) in 1897, which later became the Australian Football League (AFL), the sport’s premier competition. The Saints compete at the highest level of Australian Rules football and play their home matches at Marvel Stadium. The club is run as a member-based organization, with governance overseen by a board and leadership elected by its supporters and members. Despite long periods of struggle and a single premiership triumph in 1966, St Kilda has maintained a passionate fan base and a prominent place in AFL history.
