About the brand ❤️
Teledeporte (TDP) is a Spanish free-to-air sports television channel owned by Radiotelevisión Española (RTVE) and operated through its television division Televisión Española (TVE). Launched on 12 February 1994, it was the first dedicated sports channel in Spain and has since become a key outlet for broadcasting a wide range of Spanish and international sporting events. Teledeporte’s programming includes live coverage, highlights and analysis of football, tennis, cycling, athletics, water sports and many other disciplines, with special attention to Olympic, national and regional competitions. The channel operates 24 hours a day and broadcasts nationwide, with production facilities in Sant Cugat del Vallès and transmission infrastructure in Torrespaña, Madrid. Although RTVE once announced plans to close the channel in 2014, the decision was reversed and Teledeporte remains active, continuing to serve sports fans across Spain with both mainstream and niche sporting content. Its role supports RTVE’s public service mission by offering extensive sports coverage and helping promote a wide range of athletic activities within the Spanish-speaking audience.
