About the brand ❤️
The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) is a federally owned electric utility and public corporation of the United States, established on 18 May 1933 by the U.S. Congress to provide flood control, navigation, economic development, and electricity generation in the Tennessee Valley region. Headquartered in Knoxville, Tennessee, TVA serves more than 10 million people across parts of seven southeastern states, including Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, Kentucky, Georgia, North Carolina, and Virginia. Although owned by the U.S. federal government, TVA operates without direct taxpayer funding, instead using revenues from energy sales to fund operations. It has grown into the largest public power provider in the U.S., generating electricity from a diverse mix of hydroelectric, nuclear, coal, natural gas, and renewable sources, and managing extensive river infrastructure for environmental stewardship and regional development. TVA’s mission continues to focus on affordable, reliable power, natural resource management, and community economic growth, rooted in its origins as a key New Deal program designed to modernize a historically underserved region.
