The Boston Globe is an American daily newspaper founded in Boston in 1872 by six local businessmen led by Eben Jordan. It developed into one of New England’s leading newspapers, covering local and regional affairs as well as national and international politics, business, culture, science, sports and society. The Globe has received numerous Pulitzer Prizes and has built a substantial digital operation alongside its print edition. After being owned by The New York Times Company from 1993, it was acquired by Boston businessman John W. Henry in 2013. It continues to publish in print and digital formats.
