Toronto Defiant was a Canadian professional esports team based in Toronto, competing originally in the Overwatch League from 2019 onward. The team was launched in 2018 and owned by OverActive Media, which also manages other esports brands. During its league tenure, Defiant participated in franchised Overwatch competition in North America. After the Overwatch League ended, Defiant joined the Overwatch Champions Series in 2024. However, in December 2024, OverActive Media announced it would shelve the Toronto Defiant brand and “take a break” from Overwatch in 2025, effectively discontinuing its competitive presence under that name.
