About the brand ❤️
Unione di Banche Italiane S.p.A., known as UBI Banca, was one of the major banking groups in Italy. Created on 1 April 2007 through the merger of Banche Popolari Unite and Banca Lombarda e Piemontese, it operated a large network of branches across Lombardy, Piedmont, Central and Southern Italy. Headquartered in Bergamo (with a secondary office in Brescia), its activities included retail banking, corporate and investment banking, asset management, leasing, factoring, and other financial services. In August 2020, Intesa Sanpaolo launched a takeover bid that led to UBI Banca being acquired; the bank was delisted and, on 12 April 2021, legally merged into Intesa Sanpaolo. Although the UBI Banca brand is now part of Intesa Sanpaolo, its former network, customer base, and operations have largely been integrated into the acquiring bank.
