Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) is the flag carrier and once-largest airline of Ukraine, established in 1992 and based in Kyiv. It built an extensive international network from its hub at Boryspil Airport, serving Europe, North America, Asia, and the Middle East. Privately owned since its 2011 privatization, UIA was mainly held by Capital Investment Project LLC and Cyprus-based Ontobet Promotions. After the 2022 Russian invasion and closure of Ukrainian airspace, UIA suspended operations, and in late 2023 entered bankruptcy proceedings.
