About the brand ❤️
The Western Bulldogs are a historic Australian rules football club based in Footscray, a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Founded in 1877 as the Footscray Football Club, it is one of the oldest football clubs in the country. The club competes in the top tier Australian Football League (AFL), with its headquarters and training facilities at Whitten Oval — now known commercially as Mission Whitten Oval — while hosting most home games at Marvel Stadium in the Docklands area of Melbourne. Governed by Footscray Football Club Limited, the Bulldogs operate as a member-based organisation overseen by a board and executives. The club rebranded to its current name in 1996 to broaden its appeal across Melbourne’s western suburbs, and it fields both men’s and women’s teams, including in the AFL Women’s (AFLW) competition. Throughout its long history, the Western Bulldogs have built a passionate supporter base and achieved notable success, including AFL premierships. Known for their blue, red and white colours and spirited play, the Bulldogs remain active and competitive in Australia’s national football landscape without having closed.
