About the brand ❤️
Kress Elektrowerkzeuge (KRESS-elektrik GmbH & Co. KG) was a German manufacturer of electric power and pneumatic tools, founded in 1928 by Christian Kress in Lustnau, near Tübingen. The company expanded in the 1960s, with its principal production site in Bisingen, Baden-Württemberg. Kress developed a wide range of power tools — drills, saws, grinders, hammer drills — sold under names including “Kress” and, from 2005, “Prokressiv”. In 2012, Kress declared insolvency; after several ownership changes and financial issues, the company was unable to fulfill its bankruptcy plan. The Kress brand name was sold in 2017 to Positec (China), and on 30 April 2018 the original entity was officially dissolved. Meanwhile, production of certain original Kress tools, motors, and spare parts continues under AMB-ELEKTRIK in Bisingen.
