About the brand ❤️
Android 2.2 (Froyo) is a major version of the Android mobile operating system developed by Google LLC and released in May 2010. The name “Froyo,” short for frozen yogurt, followed Android’s early tradition of naming versions after desserts in alphabetical order. This release focused on improving speed, performance, and usability compared with earlier versions. Froyo introduced the Just-In-Time (JIT) compiler for the Dalvik virtual machine, significantly increasing application performance. It also added support for Wi-Fi hotspot and USB tethering, improved Microsoft Exchange support, voice dialing via Bluetooth, and the ability to install applications on external storage cards. The web browser received a major update with the V8 JavaScript engine for faster browsing. Although Android 2.2 is now obsolete and no longer supported, it played an important role in accelerating Android’s adoption and improving the platform’s performance during the early growth of the smartphone market.
