The Déclaration de Montréal pour un développement responsable de l’IA is a Canadian ethical charter launched by the Université de Montréal and Mila. It was created through a co‑construction process involving more than 500 citizens, experts and stakeholders to define guiding principles for the responsible development of artificial intelligence. The Declaration enshrines ten values — including well‑being, autonomy, justice, inclusion, and sustainability — that signatory organizations commit to uphold. It aims to shape public policies, research practices and social uses of AI in a way that respects human dignity and the collective good.
