About the brand ❤️
The Fiat Barchetta was an Italian two‑seat roadster produced by Fiat from 1995 to 2005. Its name — barchetta means “little boat” in Italian — evokes the classic open‑top sports car body style and reflects its spirited character. Developed in the early 1990s with design contributions from Andreas Zapatinas and Alessandro Cavazza, the Barchetta combined expressive Italian styling with a front‑engine, front‑wheel‑drive layout based on the Fiat Punto platform. Powered by a 1.8 L four‑cylinder petrol engine, it delivered engaging performance with a top speed around 200 km/h and quick handling suited to enthusiastic driving. Production was briefly interrupted in the early 2000s due to coachbuilder issues, then resumed and continued until 2005 when Fiat discontinued the model. Over its decade‑long run, roughly 57,000 units were built, making the Barchetta a memorable — and now classic — example of Italian affordable sports car design.
