About the brand ❤️
Genoa Cricket and Football Club, commonly known as Genoa CFC, is Italy’s oldest professional football club, founded on 7 September 1893 in Genoa, Liguria. Originally formed as a cricket and athletics club by British residents, it quickly became one of the earliest football pioneers in Italian sport. Genoa’s traditional colours are red and blue, and the team plays home matches at the historic Stadio Luigi Ferraris, shared with local rivals Sampdoria. Over its long history, the club has won multiple Italian championships and a Coppa Italia, and it remains a respected presence in Italian football’s top tiers. As a società per azioni (joint-stock company), Genoa CFC has undergone several ownership changes, most recently with Romanian entrepreneur Dan Șucu acquiring a controlling stake in 2024, succeeding previous U.S. investment firm 777 Partners. Despite fluctuating fortunes on the pitch, Genoa’s legacy as the oldest active club in Italy underpins its deep cultural and sporting significance in Italian football.
