Libby's is an American food brand with roots dating to 1869, when Libby, McNeill & Libby was founded in Chicago. The company initially specialized in canned meat, including corned beef, before expanding into canned fruits and vegetables. Libby's became one of the best-known U.S. packaged-food brands and was acquired by Nestlé in 1971. Over time, different parts of the business were sold or licensed to other companies. Today, the Libby's name covers canned and frozen vegetables, fruits, meat, juices, nectars and other food products in markets worldwide.
