Microsoft Kin was a short-lived line of mobile phones developed by Microsoft and launched in 2010. The devices, called Kin One and Kin Two, were designed primarily for social networking and targeted at younger users who активно used online services. The phones featured deep integration with social media, messaging, and cloud synchronization through the Kin Studio service. They ran a customized operating system based on Windows CE and were sold mainly through Verizon Wireless in the United States. Despite significant promotion, the devices received criticism for limited functionality and expensive data plans, leading Microsoft to discontinue the Kin line only a few months after its release.
