National Post is a Canadian English-language national daily newspaper founded in Toronto in 1998 by media entrepreneur Conrad Black. It was created to compete with The Globe and Mail and quickly became one of Canada’s major national newspapers. The publication covers Canadian and international politics, business, finance, economics, technology, culture, sports and current affairs. National Post became part of CanWest in 2001 and was subsequently acquired by Postmedia in 2010. Today, it operates in both print and digital formats and is the flagship national newspaper of Postmedia Network.
