Native Instruments GmbH is a Germany-based music technology company founded in 1996 by Stephan Schmitt and Volker Hinz in Berlin. It designs and produces both software and hardware for music production, sound design, DJing, and performance. Key product lines include Reaktor (a modular synthesis environment), Kontakt (sampler engine), Traktor (DJ software & hardware), Maschine (groove production system) and various effects / instruments used widely in digital music creation.
