RET is the main public transport operator in Rotterdam and the surrounding region of the Netherlands. With origins dating to 1878, it operates an integrated network of buses, trams and metro services and is responsible for managing and maintaining much of its vehicles and transport infrastructure. RET has been an independent public company since 2007, with the Municipality of Rotterdam and MRDH as its shareholders. The brand's former slogan “Aardig Onderweg” was used in its communications and community initiatives for many years. Today, RET focuses on reliable, sustainable and accessible public transport.
