Scabal (full name Société Commerciale Anglo Belgo Allemande Luxembourgeoise) is a Belgian luxury textile and menswear company, founded in 1938 by Otto Hertz in Brussels. It began as a cloth merchant supplying fabrics to tailors, and over time expanded both in manufacturing and in retail. Scabal weaves much of its cloth in its heritage mill in Huddersfield, England, and operates tailoring / made-to-measure workshops (notably in Saarbrücken, Germany). The firm is still family-owned, currently under leadership that includes Gregor Thissen. Scabal produces high-end fabrics, ready-to-wear and bespoke menswear, providing materials to luxury tailors around the world. Its products are sold through its own stores, partner shops, and via independent luxury retailers across more than 65 international markets. Quality, craft, heritage, and full European production (cloth + clothing) are central to its identity.
