About the brand ❤️
The Global Recycled Standard (GRS) is an international, voluntary sustainability standard designed to verify and track the use of recycled materials in products throughout the entire supply chain. Initially developed in 2008, its ownership was transferred to the nonprofit Textile Exchange in 2011, which now governs the standard’s criteria and revisions. GRS sets comprehensive requirements for third-party certification of recycled content, chain of custody, environmental practices, social responsibility, and chemical restrictions. Products certified under GRS must contain a minimum threshold of recycled content and meet strict traceability and compliance protocols. Although Textile Exchange owns the standard, independent certifiers such as SCS Global Services perform audits and issue certifications against GRS criteria. The standard applies across industries—including textiles, consumer goods, and other materials with recycled content—to increase transparency, promote responsible production, and support the shift toward a more sustainable, circular economy.
